Brett Favre was basically brought to Minnesota to manage the offence, not to throw long, dangerous passes that would be picked off. The idea was to mainly establish the running game, featuring Adrian Peterson. This is why he was drafted. It was hoped that with a back like Peterson Farve could throw short safe passes on third down, making it easier to get the first down, but instead he seems to be inheirting 3rd-15, 3rd-20 too often. The running game must improve in order to prevent Farve from having to go long a good share of the time, and thus be prone to give up interceptions, and possibly be injured himself. The Vikings traded away half of their team to get Herschel Walker who was brought to Minnesota not to get to the superbowl, but to win the superbowl. I only wonder if Adrian Peterson can accomplish what Walker could not do?
